The Greedy Farmer's Son

Long time ago, there lived a poor farmer. He used to work hard on the fields. But, he was not able to get enough money from the farm produce. One day, he found an anthill on his field and found a snake there. The snake ate the ant eggs , hence saving the farmers grains from the ants. He was like a guard to the farmer field produce. The farmer thought of paying back to the snake. Next day, he brought milk for the snake in a bowl and kept it near his burrow.

The Crow , Snake and Necklace

Long time ago, a crow lived with his family in the forest. The crow had build a nest on the tree. But, sadly , a snake lived near the bottom of the tress. there lived a crow couple who had built a nest on top of a tree. Whenever the crow lay eggs, the serpent used to crawl up the tree and eat all the eggs. The crow family was very troubled by the snake.  It was happening again and again.  The crow wanted to get rid of the snake.

The Scorpion and The Saint

One day a saint was taking a bath in a river. His disciple sat on the banks of the river taking care of his things.The saint watched a scorpion drowning in the river. Being kind, he lifted the scorpion by a leaf and started walking towards the bank.

It was a hot summer day. An ant went to a pond to drink water as he was thirsty. The ant lost its balance while drinking water and fell in the pond. the ant started drowning in water.

The Ant and the GrassHopper

It was a summer day.A grasshopper was hopping around , dancing to the music of chirping birds in the nice weather. An Ant passed by carrying a corn he was taking to the house.

The Cap Seller and the Monkey

Once upon a time, there was a cap seller. The cap seller used to sell caps to the local village and  near by villages. All the people liked his caps and bought from him only.

Once he was passing through a  forest to sell the caps to a near by collage.. It was a hot day and he became tired. He thought of taking rest near a tree near by a river. He put the cap basket down and sat down under a huge shady tree. He was tired and the wind was slowly flowing and was pleasant. He soon fall asleep.

The Jackal and The Drum

Once upon a time, in a forest, there lived a jackal. One day, he was wandering in search of food and was very hungry. On his way, he saw a big drum lying under a tree. When the wind blew, a tender branch of the tree struck the drum producing sound of a drum beat. The jackal saw the drum from all sides. He, then beat the drum with his front paws. The drum made a sound. The jackal thought, that there might be a hidden animal inside the drum. Thinking of a prey in the drum made him. But, he found the top of the drum too hard to tear off.

Once upon a time, a man went for hunting in a forest.He saw a wild boar coming towards him. The man shot an arrow at the boar to . The arrow pierced the boar's neck and protruded at its back.

But, the boar, killed the hunter with his pointed tusks  before falling on the ground, The hunter and the boar lied dead on the ground.

Four Cow and the Tiger

Once upon a time , there lived four cows in a forest . They were good friends and moved always in a group.. They always grazed together. As they were always together, they saved each other when some wild animal attacked them. 

Even wild animals like tigers, and lions couldn't gather the courage to kill them and eat them.

Two Fish and Frog

Long time ago, there lived two fish and a frog in a pond.  One day, when the three friends were talking to each other on the edge of the pond, while some fishermen passed by. They were carrying baskets and nets with them. They saw the pond full of various fishes. They said to one another, "This pond seems to be full of fish. Let's come tomorrow and catch them."

Two Goose and a Tortoise

 Once upon a time, two goose Mana and Sampa and a tortoise,Chirpu lived near a river. They were good friends. Once, it did not rain the whole year. There was drought in the region. All the water sources like rivers, lakes and ponds went dry. The birds and animals begin  to die of thirst.

The Wolf and The Lamb

Long ago, there lived a wolf in a forest. A small river flowed through the forest. The river flowed through the hills.

Once the wolf was drinking water at the river up the hills..He saw a lamb drinking water from the same river down the hills. The wolf wanted to eat the lamb. He thought of a plan. So, he shouted down at the lamb, "How dare you make the water dirty I am drinking?"

The King and The Two Parrots

Once upon a time, a hunter went to hunt in a forest. He caught two parrots in his net. The hunter was happy as he could sell these parrot and earn some money.

 

The Blue Jackal

Once upon a time, in a forest, there lived a jackal.The jackal had not eaten anything sice past two days and was very hungry.He wadered across the forest in search of food but of no use. Soon, he reached the outskirts of a village.
As soon as the jackal entered the village, a few dogs started barking and running after him. The jackal got scared and ran for his life. Soon, he saw a house with a backyard door open. He entered the house to save himself. Suddenness, there was spilled water and the jackal slipped into a tub filled with liquid. As he gathered himself and came out of tub, he saw all the dogs running scared and running away.

The Golden Goat

Once upon a time in a forest, there lived a golden goat. The golden goat did not look like goat.   He was an rare goat which was very royal. He was as tall as a horse and was strong enough as a bull. His hair were golden and he had big horns. The animals were  scared by his royal look so much so that even lions and tigers kept away from the goat.

 

The Lion and the Rabbit

Once upon a time, a cruel lion lived in a forest. He killed other animals for not reason, The other animals were very scared of him.


One day, all animals gathered together to discuss the lion problem. The animals went to the lion and pleaded not to hunt and kill animals. Instead, they offered him one animal everyday for his hunger. The lion agreed to their request.

The Crow and The Pot of Water

It was a hot summer day and a crow was very thirsty. He flew around the forest in  search of water.  But, since it has not rained fo many days, the rivers and the ponds had dried away. So, he could not find any water.

The Monk and The Thief

Once upon of time , there was a monk who lived in a small village. He was well known in the village.

People in the village visited him. They offered him money, food and also other gifts and seeks his blessings.

The monk did not needed the gifts so he sold them and earned money. Slowly, he saved a lot of money. He put the money in a small bag that he carried with himself  everywhere.  The monk never parted with the bag as he did not trust anyone.
