The Jackal and The Drum

Once upon a time, in a forest, there lived a jackal. One day, he was wandering in search of food and was very hungry. On his way, he saw a big drum lying under a tree. When the wind blew, a tender branch of the tree struck the drum producing sound of a drum beat. The jackal saw the drum from all sides. He, then beat the drum with his front paws. The drum made a sound. The jackal thought, that there might be a hidden animal inside the drum. Thinking of a prey in the drum made him. But, he found the top of the drum too hard to tear off.

The jackal thought of a plan and began to beat the drum with both his paws.The sound of drumbeat filled the whole forest. A leopard was attracted to the sound of the drum. He walked to the drum following the sound,

The jackal said to the leopard, "There is some animal hiding in the drum. As you have sharp claws and strong teeth, you can tear off the top of the drum and catch your prey inside the drum".

The idea seems interesting to the leopard. He himself was very hungry.So, he hit the top of the drum with his heavy paws. The drum burst with a sound,But, alas,  The drum was empty.There was no hidden animal.

This made the leopard angry. He said to the jackal, "You have wasted my time. There is no hidden animal inside the drum. Now, you will have to pay for it. I will eat you."

Saying this, the leopard pounced upon the jackal leading to jackal death.
