Once upon of time , there was a monk who lived in a small village. He was well known in the village.
People in the village visited him. They offered him money, food and also other gifts and seeks his blessings.
The monk did not needed the gifts so he sold them and earned money. Slowly, he saved a lot of money. He put the money in a small bag that he carried with himself everywhere. The monk never parted with the bag as he did not trust anyone.
One day, a thief came across the monk. He watched that the monk never parted with the bag, He got suspicious that the bag contained valuable things or money.
He planned of stealing the bag by becoming a disciple of the monk. That way, he could be win the confidence of the monk and get an opportunity to steal the bag.
He became disciple of the monk and took good care of him. He talked very softly and in a sweet tone with him. He did all the monk's work and took good care of him. He soon gained the confidence of the monk. But, still could not steal the bag as the monk never left the bag alone.
One day, a boy visited the monk. He invited him to his house for a ceremony. The monk accepted his offer.
The next day, both the monk and disciple left for the boy's home in next village. On the way, they came across a river. He took off his bag and wrapped in his clothes and handed over to the disciple.He asked his disciple to look after it while he took bath in the river.
When the monk returned , he could find his disciple and the bag too, He at once realized, that he was being robbed.
The monk tried finding him but of no use.
